Money is Power (less)

Why are we so attached with the material things in life, rather with MONEY. With my tough experience, I have realized that money is the means to your ends, but it is not the end. This is where people misunderstand and have wrong priorities. Nothing is more important in life than your happiness and peace. Money can be earned to buy comforts, but those comforts are meaningless without your happiness. It is often heard that staying in a small flat happily is much better than staying in a mansion unhappy. It is absolutely true. This is so because comfort and happiness are not synonyms, which people believe to be. They might complement each other sometimes, but not always.
Richest people in the world are not the happiest ones. People believe that if they have money in abundance, they can buy and control the world. Money has the power to buy material things, but it does not have the power to buy things in life which matter- emotions, love, relations, friends, respect and dignity. These virtues cannot be bought with money, they are earned with time.
Money should be earned, not yearned. In the desire to have more and more money, people lose on their values in life, they forget their relations, they leave behind friends. Is it really worth it?? Take my experience – It is not. The irony is that you realize it when the time is gone. It will not come back. You will realize it when it is too late. Learn from someone else’s experience. I have also learnt it from someone’s deeds, but unfortunately, I had to bear the harsh consequences. Don’t let money overpower you. Control your greed. Limit your wants. Understand when experience says “detach yourself”.
It is important to earn money, but not at the cost of losing more important things in life. Believe me, it is not worth it.
